The First Pizza Ever Cooked Inside the Parliament House
Shop225 became the first pizza ever cooked inside Parliament House, and we've got the wood-fired proof.
How it happened
On 24 June 2026, Shop225 became the first establishment to serve wood-fired pizza within Parliament House, Canberra.
Our wood-fired oven was brought on-site, and every pizza was cooked fresh within the building, prepared on hand-stretched, slow-fermented dough and finished over open flame, exactly as it is served daily at Shop225.
Operating within Parliament House required compliance with the venue's catering and safety standards while maintaining the quality our customers expect. We met both. It stands as clear evidence of our consistency: a standard that holds, regardless of the setting.
A genuine first
No pizza had been cooked at Parliament House before. Now one has.
The setting
Canberra's Parliament House, about as official as a kitchen gets.
Same pizza, same place
The exact pizza we serve every day, come taste it for yourself.
